Peter Middlemas - November 2001

Our love and prayers are with the Middlemas family following the very sudden death of Peter at the age of 42. He was a much loved and cherished member of his family and community, and his late father Jim, mother Celia and sisters Bridget, Helen and Sarah all fought his corner, and were there for him in the vicissitudes of his life.

Peter loved the outdoor life, and worked in the gardens at the Blind School before taking a horticulture course at the Queen Elizabeth Foundation. His many varied interests included geology and natural history, industrial archaeology and the railways.

At his funeral Bridget described him as a kind, generous and thoughtful man with a great sense of humour, who was always trying to help those less fortunate than himself. His strong Christian faith sustained him through thick and thin, and he will be much missed.

Peter's sudden death was a great shock to the family, and we have been so appreciative of and grateful for the support shown in so many ways. A heartfelt "thank you". Celia Middlemas
