St.Mary & St.Nicholas Hall, Church Road

The hall was opened in 1948, redesigned in 1963 and has been fully redecorated to meet the demands of the New Millennium.

It is easily accessible from the town centre and from Norbury Park. 

It has a variety of rooms to suit all types of occasion, from small committee meetings to lectures, exhibitions and wedding receptions. 

The whole hall is a non smoking area.


Main Hall
- stage for theatrical productions
- fully equipped kitchen which meets current Health & safety standards
- level access for wheelchairs and prams
- size 60ftx27ft: seats 250: dines up to 150
- floor suitable for dancing

Hirers need to provide their own audiovisual equipment.


Committee Room
- ground floor room providing informal atmosphere for small meetings
- recently totally refurbished with carpeting and curtains
- level access for wheelchairs and prams
- size 18ftx10ft: seats up to 15

Reeves Room
- medium sized first floor room ideal for AGMs or small meetings
- newly refurbished and carpeted
- includes small kitchenette
- size 30ftx15ft: seats up to 30

Other facilities
- full kitchen & toilet facilities
- the hall is situated in a large public car park

29 Jan 2011: CONDITIONS TO BE OBSERVED BY ALL PARISH HALL USERS: All users of the Parish Hall must observe conditions in compliance with the terms of our licence under the Licensing Act 2003 and the Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005. Hirers already receive a copy of the conditions when making a booking, but we need to ensure that non-paying users are also aware of the requirements. From now on all who use the hall (including non-paying users) are asked to book with Sheila Sutherland and put the application in writing. She will ensure that they receive copies of the various documents. All users must comply with the conditions set out.
