George - Family Farewell in New Zealand

George and Una were blessed with a daughter, Mary, born in 1930. She grew up at their home in Copthorne Road, Leatherhead. Mary regularly attended the Parish Church and took part in the Youth Group and was secretary for the Over-20 Club.

She also helped with the Sunday School and Cub Scouts. She worked locally for solicitors Tuck & Mann in Gravel Hill for some years and then in the late fifties moved overseas to live and work in New Zealand.

Mary met Burton whom she married in 1965 and they settled down in Whangarei, North Island. A daughter, Patricia, was born in 1965.

George and Una celebrated their Golden Wedding by visiting New Zealand in 1978 for three months, meeting Burton and Patricia for the first time.

Patricia married Scott in 1998 and in 2000 Felicity was born.

A Memorial Service was held at St. Paul's Co-operating Parish Church, Kamo, Whangarei, on Wednesday 26th September 2001, to celebrate George's life.

A member of the local congregation, Ken Gill, who used to live at Bookham and East Horsley and knew George gave a short address - quoting some of Mark Secker's comments.

At this service Felicity was Blessed. This was given by Rev. Kathryn Walters.
