What do The Friends of Leatherhead Parish Church do?

Of course we work closely with those responsible for the Parish Church building and the Churchyard but we are bound by our aims as stated in our registration as a charity.

Since 1984 the amount we have raised has totalled a significant five figure sum at current prices.

We ask the Parochial Church Council to keep us informed of issues relating to our aims.

In part those aims are met by providing time to do work in the churchyard or to provide help at appropriate events.

We are not a 'church' organisation.

Many Friends are parish church members. Some are not and we welcome more, recognising that for many the building is the historic face of their town.

The COVID pandemic and the lengthy reordering work in the building has deprived many of the opportunity to visit it and understand why the Friends want to play a part in the passing on of St Mary & St Nicholas Leatherhead to future generations.

In raising money for projects we have also provided many and varied social events for the parish and town, most notably our Annual Quiz Evening.
